Connect Pinterest

You sign in to Pinterest, allow ContentPilot to post, and choose a board. After that, approved posts with a picture can go out as Pins on the times you pick.

Steps

  1. In ContentPilot, open the business (or client) and press Connections.
  2. Next to Pinterest, press Connect. Pinterest opens.
  3. Sign in if you need to, and press Give access.
  4. Back in ContentPilot, choose the board your Pins go to, if you have more than one.

The connection has to finish within ten minutes, in the browser you started in.

What the permission is for

ContentPilot asks Pinterest to read and create boards and Pins. It uses that to list your boards, publish the Pins you approve and schedule, and check they went out.

What gets posted

A Pin with the post's picture, a title and description from the caption, and a link to the post's article or to your website. A Pin needs a picture, so a post without one will not go out on Pinterest.

To disconnect, press Disconnect on the Connections page.

FAQ

Common problems

My Pin did not go out and says it needs an image.

Pinterest only takes Pins with a picture. Add an image to the post, then schedule or publish it again.

It says to choose a board.

Your Pinterest account has several boards and none is chosen yet. Choose one on the Connections page and your Pins go there.

Can my client connect their own Pinterest?

Not from the emailed connect link yet. For now it is connected from the Connections page while signed in to ContentPilot.
